¿What do Ato’s message statuses mean?

Updated over a week ago

When you send a message from the Ato App, you may see different status updates. These indicators help you understand whether the User has heard and interacted with your message. Below is a clear explanation of each status:

⚫ Sending

If the message appears as “Sending,” it means Ato is currently announcing the message to the User.

To ensure the message is heard, Ato may repeat it up to 6 times if no interaction is detected.

🔴 Attempted, we couldn’t deliver the message

If the status shows “Attempted, we couldn’t deliver the message,” it means Ato announced the message up to 6 times but did not detect a response or interaction from the User.

What counts as a response or interaction?

A message is considered delivered when one of the following happens:

  • The User asks Ato to send a reply back to the person who contacted them

  • The User presses the device button to pause the message

  • The User starts a new conversation with Ato

If none of these actions occur after the attempts, the system marks the message as not delivered.

🟢 Delivered

If the status appears as “Delivered,” it means the User interacted with Ato or requested to send a reply.

In this case, you can feel confident that the message was heard and there was interaction.
